Goals

When making lifestyle changes, keep in mind that it is a process. It's not going to happen over night. You also can't change everything all at once. That kind of thinking will set you up for failure. We need to be realistic in our goals. This should be a gradual process. Try changing one or two things at a time and when you have mastered those things then move forward from there. Overall our goal is a healthy lifestyle not just to loose weight or to look good for an event. If those are your goals then once achieved you will slip back into old habits. Our goal here is to feel good about who you are now and who you want to become. We also need to celebrate our successes with things we enjoy. (try to make it a non-food treat) We also don't need to get down on ourselves about slip-ups. As I said before this is a process and if our goal is to feel good inside and out then what good would berating ourselves do? One thing I have found is that when we start to make changes and are happy with and accept who we are, including strengths and weaknesses, it is easier to make good choices and the change is easier.
