Self

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you see all the flaws and the things you want to change? Do you take the time to see the beauty before you? Do you notice the good? We tend to be critical of ourselves and others. However we can look around and realize that we are amazing as are others around us and we can learn from each other instead of pulling each other down. We need to realize that everyone is different. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. If you think someone's life is perfect and they have no flaws then you don't know them well enough. Everyone has things they wish they could change. Everyone has challenges, its a part of life. It's what we do with those challenges that determines the kind of people we become.

We cannot compare ourselves with others. We cannot even compare ourselves with ourselves. It's not fair to compare our 30+ body with that of our 19-25 year old body. Things change and so do we. Genetics plays a role as well as our history, what we have done over the years. No one is exactly like us. No one has our talents and interests and challenges. Yes we share some of these things with others but not one other person has walked the same path. So why compare yourself to them.

We need to focus on the good in our lives. The things we love and make us truly happy. If we feel that there is something that needs to change then make sure it is for the right reason. We all want to look good. I don't know of anyone that wakes up in the morning thinking I want to be ugly today, but we need to remember that how we look doesn't dictate who we are. If we want to make changes it should be to be our best selves. To be healthy and happy and to enjoy life and all it's possibilities.
